My passion for technology began as a young man in the mid 1980’s. My friends and I would play 5.25" floppy disk games on Commodore 64's and older Apple desktop models. My family didn't have a computer when I was growing up, and I was fascinated by them. In school, I remember enjoying the rare opportunities to use the computer for homework, or games. Then, in 1992, I took apart my girlfriend’s (now my wife) first Compaq PC, and some valuable lessons were learned! During the mid 90's I transitioned into the IT business sector. In 1998, I began working at MIT in the central IT office. Working at MIT for over 13 years gave me the exposure and the experience with all different types of technologies and people.

It was there at MIT where I grew profoundly as a professional, and as an IT leader. Winning several prestigious performance based awards, I was chosen to take part of the MOR Associates IT Leaders Program. This experience had me learning IT leadership skills from colleagues, and like minded professionals from MIT, Stanford University, University of Chicago and the University of California, Berkeley.  From there I continued to evolve and grow, realizing that my true passion was to help people embrace technology in a more positive and productive way. Chuck King's Conscious Computing launched in the Spring of 2011 and has been going strong ever since it's opening.  Today, I am firmly dedicated to bringing individuals, families, and small businesses to a more aware, and a more productive, computing experience.
